Whilst four aircraft carriers of the class had originally been planned, constant in-fighting between the Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe, as well as a priority on the building of U-Boats hampered their construction, with the planned four carriers quickly reduced to two. It isn't rocket surgery.Though laid down and launched before the start of the war, the Graf Zeppelin was never completed or commissioned, and it never saw action. I've had full AA Cleveland, Atlanta, Kutuzov, Eugen, Baltimore and Hindy against GZ and never had a BB near me get waxed- the CVs know better or find out real quick it's a full AA build cruiser. Strong AA cruisers are a significant deterrent to CVs and I wouldn't classify Pensy as strong in this situation which is probably why he took a run at you. Let them know you need them, I'm quite sure if you try to provide your cruiser cover against the red BBs, they'll stick near you. That said if you are in a battle that has one I suggest you make a beeline for a cruiser that has better AA than Pensacola- and swim with them. Despite having full secondary build, maneuvering, being within aa range of a pensy, and him moving his planes over me for the time it took my izmo to complete a full circle, he landed 9 AP bomb hits for 54,560 hp, i took a 5k salvo from an iowa, and he torped me with 2 torps for 12k hp. I just got insta-delted by a Graf Zeppelin in an Izumo.
